Every year millions of people make New Years’s resolutions that fall by the wayside by the end of February, if they make it that long. The following tips will help you take charge of your life, whether your resolution is to lose weight, get out of debt, spend more time with family, or all the above.

1. Choose New Years resolutions that are realistic.

2. Put thought and prayer into your decision.

3. Write your reasons for each goal.

4. Make small, attainable goals to reach along the way.

5. Think “year round”, not just New Year’s.

6. Have a plan in place for periodic reviews.

7. Remain Flexible.

8. Remember “all things in moderation”.

9. Evaluate your program once a month or a few times throughout the year.

10. Acknowledge your successes-even the small ones.

Hope this is of help, It came from an article in our Church youth and christian education leadership magazine, an article by Tim Hill.

Take Time….

Take The Time To Read

1.  Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.

2.  Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.

3.  Buy a DVR and tape your late night shows and get more sleep.

4.  When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, ‘My purpose is to ___________ today.’

5.  Live with the 3 E’s — Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.

6.  Watch more movies, play more games and read more books than you did last year.

7.  Make time to practice meditation, yoga, tai chi, and prayer. They provide us with daily fuel for our busy lives.

8.  Spend more time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6.

9.  Dream more while you are awake.

10. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.

11. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaska salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.

12. Try to make at least three people smile each day.

13. Clear your clutter from your house, your car, your desk and let new and flowing energy into your life.

14. Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

15. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

16. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

17. Smile and laugh more. It will keep the energy vampires away.

18. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.

19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

20. Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

21. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

22. Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up the present.

23. Don’t compare your life to others’. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

24. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, and wear the fancy lingerie (not you guys.) Don’t save it for a special occasion.  Today is special.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: ‘In five years, will this matter?’

27. Forgive everyone for everything.

28. What other people think of you is none of your business.

29. Time heals almost everything. Give time, time.

30. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

31. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.

32. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.

33. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

34. The best is yet to come.

35. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

36. Do the right thing!

37. Call your family often.

38. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: ‘I am thankful for __________.’      Today I accomplished _________.

39. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.

40. Enjoy the ride. Remember that this is not Disney World and you certainly don’t want a fast pass. You only have one ride through life so make the most  of it and enjoy the ride.

May your troubles be less, May your blessings be more. And may nothing but happiness come through your door!

Have a great day in the Lord!

J.R. on tract today!

Merry Christmas! Jesus Love and mine!

From Pastor Allen of www.godsminute.com and me, J.R.

“BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD, AND BEAR A
SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME “IMMANUEL” WHICH
TRANSLATED IS, “GOD WITH US.”
( MATTHEW 1:23 NKJV )

For; UNTO US A SON IS GIVEN; AND THE GOVERNMENT
SHALL BE UPON HIS SHOULDER; AND HIS NAME SHALL
BE CALLED WONDERFUL, COUNSELOR, THE MIGHTY GOD,
THE EVERLASTING FATHER, THE PRINCE OF PEACE.
( ISAIAH 9:6 )

Dear Blog readers,
As we prepare to celebrate Christ’s Birth, try not to get caught
up in the hustle bustle of the season, which is easy to do with
Santa Claus, Christmas Trees and Presents. Always keep in
mind that Christmas really stands for the Birth of our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ and His great gifts to us, including the
Forgiveness of our sins and Eternal Life as well.

Now it is my prayer that your Christmas be filled with love,
hope and faith, and that “THE PEACE OF GOD, WHICH
PASSETH ALL UNDERSTANDING SHALL KEEP YOUR
HEART AND MIND THROUGH JESUS CHRIST.
( Philippians 4:7 )

Have a Very Merry Christmas, and may it be merry and
bright as well!. Amen.

In HIS Love & Service,
Pastor Allen

I just got out of the hospital, I guess I went on the wrong medication and it didn’t quite work out. So in an attempt to get on a different med that would encourage me not to maintain weight, but lose it. The meds didn’t work, so I went in the hospital last Monday to get on a different regimen of meds. Needless to say I came out taking more meds than I was on. I don’t think I was given enough time on the other meds, to see if they worked or not, Everyone around me panicked thinking something was wrong, when in fact I did not think so. However, Please keep me in your prayers, Although I am much better, and I know there are others who need much more of an answer to there prayers than I do. The Homeless, Hungry,  The Sick, The Troops, The President, Missionaries, those that don’t know Jesus as Lord. I hope you have a blessed Christmas with those you love!  Go to this link for a great Christmas message: http://www.andiesisle.com/didsheknow.html

Christmas Letter from Jesus…

============================

This is from the email devotion Mountain Wings Moments:

This came in my email at the perfect time. I recently got into
a discussion online with some ladies about Christmas and what
it means… and stores and companies and how they do or do not
celebrate the season! Boy, this really opened my eyes. I don’t
know if you will use it, but here it is anyway!
~Jodi, Hope Mills, NC~

Dear Children,

It has come to my attention that many you are upset that folks
are taking My name out of the season. Maybe you’ve forgotten
that I wasn’t actually born during this time of the year and
that it was some of your predecessors who decided to celebrate
My birthday on what was actually a time of pagan festival.
Although I do appreciate being remembered anytime.

How I personally feel about this celebration can probably be
most easily understood by those of you who have been blessed
with children of your own.

I don’t care what you call the day. If you want to celebrate
My birth, just GET ALONG AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

Now, having said that let Me go on. If it bothers you that the
town in which you live doesn’t allow a scene depicting My
birth, then just get rid of a couple of Santa’s and snowmen
and put in a small Nativity scene on your own front lawn. If
all My followers did that there wouldn’t be any need for such
a scene on the town square because there would be many of them
all around town.

Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling the tree
a holiday tree, instead of a Christmas tree. It was I who made
all trees. You can remember Me anytime you see any tree.
Decorate a grape vine if you wish: I actually spoke of that
one in a teaching, explaining who I am in relation to you and
what each of our tasks were. If you have forgotten that one,
look up John 15: 1 - 8.

If you want to give Me a present in remembrance of My birth
here is my wish list. Choose something from it:

1. Instead of writing protest letters objecting to the way My
birthday is being celebrated, write letters of love and hope
to soldiers away from home.  They are terribly afraid and
lonely this time of year.  I know, they tell Me all the time.

2. Visit someone in a nursing home. You don’t have to know
them personally.  They just need to know that someone cares
about them.

3. Instead of writing George complaining about the wording on
the cards his staff sent out this year, why don’t you write
and tell him that you’ll be praying for him and his family
this year.  Then follow up.  It will be nice hearing from you
again.

4. Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts you can’t
afford and they don’t need, spend time with them.  Tell them
the story of My birth, and why I came to live with you down
here.  Hold them in your arms and remind them that I love
them.

5. Pick someone that has hurt you in the past and forgive him
or her.

6. Did you know that someone in your town will attempt to take
their own life this season because they feel so alone and
hopeless?  Since you don’t know who that person is, try giving
everyone you meet a warm smile; it could make the difference.

7. Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in your town
calls the holiday, be patient with the people who work there.
Give them a warm smile and a kind word.  Even if they aren’t
allowed to wish you a “Merry Christmas” that doesn’t keep you
from wishing them one.  Then stop shopping there on Sunday.
If the store didn’t make so much money on that day they’d
close and let their employees spend the day at home with their
families.

8. If you really want to make a difference, support a
missionary - especially one who takes My love and Good News to
those who have never heard My name.

9. Here’s a good one.  There are individuals and whole
families in your town who not only will have no “Christmas”
tree, but neither will they have any presents to give or
receive.  If you don’t know them, buy some food and a few
gifts and give them to the Salvation Army or some other
charity which believes in Me and they will make the delivery
for you.

10. Finally, if you want to make a statement about your belief
in and loyalty to Me, then behave like a Christian. Let
people know by your actions that you are one of mine.

Don’t forget; I am God and can take care of Myself. Just love
Me and do what I have told you to do. I’ll take care of all
the rest.

Check out the list above and get to work; time is short. I’ll
help you, but the ball is now in  your court. And do have a
most blessed Christmas with all those whom you love and
remember:
                                                              I LOVE YOU!   JESUS

I thought the above was good, I have noticed a lot of Churches don’t even have a Nativity Scene. We don’t worship the nativity scene or a christmas tree for that matter. Many churches today I know have a Christmas tree in the Church Lobby and even on the stage behind the podium. No trace of the Nativity!? Not that it should be on the alter or podium. We worship Jesus in spirit and truth. Not a Statue or some reminder of Christ. God is a living spirit in the person of the Holy Ghost. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Some day according to the bible in Revelations the wrong things will show up and actually be worshipped in the church of its day. We don’t worship the Cross either. Although that is a reminder of what Jesus went thru when he hung the sins of the world upon himself and the cross and became the living sacrifice for all mankind. There is a saying “No Cross, No Crown”. One Day Jesus will be Crowned “King of Kings and Lord of Lord’s”. Greatly befitting the sinless Creator and God of Heaven. Currently he is seated in Heaven at the Right Hand of the Father. One day at the command of the father, He will return in the “moment and the twinkling of the eye” as the bible says, and take the living believers and the dead in Christ to heaven. No one knows the day or the Hour, he will come. For all believers in Christ that will be a happy day! Lets remember the real reason for the Season, Jesus, and why he came to earth! Share it with your friends and family! If you don’t know Christ as savior, visit our site www.freegift4life.com . That site currently has some stray code/wording that someone hacked our site and placed that garbled text at the bottom of the opening page. The site works however and the text should be gone on the next upload.

Be sure to tell others about this blog and our other sites listed in the blogroll. Check out some of the previous entries to this blog, there was some good stories and things said.

Have a Great Day in the Lord! Wishing you a Happy Christmas and a Super New Year! Attend a bible believing Church of your choice at Christmas and through out the Year!

RSL…

Are you a Reason, a Season, or a Lifetime?

Pay attention to what you read.  After you read this, you will
know the reason it was on this blog.

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a
lifetime.  When you figure out which one it is, you will know
what to do for each person.

REASON:

When someone is in your life for a REASON. . .
It is usually to meet a need you have expressed.  They have come
to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance
and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend, and they are!  They are there for
the reason you need them to be.

Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an
inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring
the relationship to an end.

Sometimes they die.
Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.

What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire
fulfilled, their work is done.

The prayer you sent up has been answered.

And now it is time to move on.

SEASON:

When people come into your life for a SEASON it is because your
turn has come to share, grow, or learn.  They bring you an
experience of peace or make you laugh.  They may teach you
something you have never done.  They usually give you an
unbelievable amount of joy.  Believe it!  It is real!

But, only for a season.

LIFETIME:

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; things you
must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.

Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what
you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of
your life.

It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life.

Stop here and just SMILE.

Work like you don’t need the money.
Love like you’ve never been hurt.
And dance like no one is watching.
