On a Different Note….

This is an email I recieved, I wanted to share it with you, Don’t laugh to much, or cry, whichever the case may be.

Yes, it’s that magical time of the year again when the Darwin
Awards are bestowed, honoring the least evolved (Ha!-Ha!) among us. Here then, are
the glorious winners for 2007:

1. When his 38-caliber revolver failed to fire at his intended
victim during a hold-up in Long Beach , California , would-be robber
James Elliot did something that can only inspire wonder. He peered down
the barrel and tried the trigger again. This time it worked…..

And now, the honorable mentions:

2. The chef at a hotel in Switzerland lost a finger in a
meat-cutting machine and, after a little shopping
around, submitted a claim to his insurance company. The company expecting
negligence sent out one of its’ men to have a look for himself. He tried
the machine and he also lost a finger. The chef’s claim was approved.

3. A man who shoveled snow for an hour to clear a space
for his car during a blizzard in Chicago returned with his
vehicle to find a woman had taken the space. Understandably, he shot her.

4. After stopping for drinks at an illegal bar, a
Zimbabwean bus driver found that the 20 mental patients he was supposed
to be transporting from Harare to Bulawayo had escaped. Not wanting to
admit his incompetence, the driver went to a nearby bus stop and offered
everyone waiting there a free ride. He then delivered
the passengers to the mental hospital, telling the staff that the
patients were very excitable and prone to bizarre fantasies. The
deception wasn’t discovered for 3 days.

5. An American teenager was in the hospital recovering
from serious head wounds received from an oncoming train. When asked how
he received the injuries, the lad told police that he was simply trying
to see how close he could get his head to a moving train before he was
hit.

6. A man walked into a Louisiana Circle-K, put a $20
bill on the counter, and asked for change. When the clerk opened the
cash drawer, the man pulled a gun and asked for all the cash in the
register, which he clerk promptly provided. The man took the cash from
the clerk and fled, leaving the $20 bill on the counter. The total
amount of cash he got from the drawer…$15. (If someone points a gun at
you and gives you money, is a crime committed?)

7. Seems an Arkansas guy wanted some beer pretty badly.
He decided that he’d just throw a cinder-block through a liquor store
window, grab some booze, and run. So he lifted the cinder-block and
heaved it over his head at the window. The cinder-block bounced back and
hit the would-be thief on the head, knocking him unconscious. The liquor
store window was made of Plexiglas. The whole event was caught on
videotape.

8. As a female shopper exited a New York convenience
store, a man grabbed her purse and ran. The clerk called “911″
immediately, and the woman was able to give them a detailed description
of the snatcher. Within minutes, the police apprehended the snatcher.
They put him in the car and drove back to the store. The thief was then
taken out of the car and told to stand there for a positive ID. To which he
replied, “Yes, officer, that’s her. That’s the lady I stole the purse
from.”
(And they wonder why tigers eat their young!)

9. The Ann Arbor News crime column reported that a man
walked into a Burger King in Ypsilanti , Michigan , at 5 A.M., flashed a
gun, and demanded cash. The clerk turned him down because he said he
couldn’t open the cash register without a food order. When the man
ordered onion rings, the clerk said they weren’t available for breakfast. The man,
frustrated, walked away.

***A 5-STAR STUPIDITY AWARD WINNER***

10. When a man attempted to siphon gasoline from a motor
home parked on a Seattle street, he got much more than he bargained for.
Police arrived at the scene to find a very sick man curled up next to a
motor home near spilled sewage. A police spokesman said that the man
admitted to trying to steal gasoline and plugged his siphon hose into the motor home’s sewage tank by mistake. The owner of the vehicle declined to press charges, saying that it was the best laugh he’d ever had.

Hope these inspired you to be smart in all you do! hopefully nothing relating to crime, while being stupid or smart.

J.R. On Tract!     www.johnlrasmussen.com   my life so far! a new blog in the works too!

Who are you trusting?….

HE WHO DWELLS IN THE SHELTER OF THE MOST HIGH WILL
REST IN THE SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY. I WILL SAY OF
THE LORD, “HE IS MY REFUGE AND MY FORTRESS, MY GOD
IN WHOM I TRUST.”
( PSALM 91:1-2 * NIV )

God has promised us: “AS A MOTHER COMFORTS
HER CHILD, SO WILL I COMFORT YOU. ( ISAIAH 66:13 )
Therefore never doubt, instead put all of your trust in Him. The
following poem sums it up best. I hope that you will enjoy it.

I Know…

** I know He is the beginning, so why do I worry about the end?
** I know He is the creator, so why do I wonder who will destroy?
** I know He has forgiven me, so why can’t I forgive myself?
** I know He is a healer, so why do I speak of sickness?
** I know He can do all things, so why do I say I can’t?
** I know He will protect me, so why do I fear?
** I know He will supply all my needs, so why can’t I wait?
** I know He is my strength and my salvation, so why do I feel weak?
** I know that everything and everyone has a season, so why when
someone’s season is over do I weep instead of rejoice?
** I know He is the right way, so why do I go the wrong way?
** I know He is the light, so why do I choose to walk in darkness?
** I know that whatever I ask of GOD, GOD will give me,
so why am I scared to ask?
** I know tomorrow is not promised, so why do I put off
for tomorrow what I can do today?
** I know that the truth shall make me free, so
why do I continue to lie?
** I know He gives us revelation, knowledge and
understanding, so why do I lean on my own understanding?
** I know I should live in the spirit as well as walk in the spirit,
so why do I choose to live in the spirit but walk in the flesh?
** I know that when praises go up, blessings come down,
so why do I refuse to praise Him?
** I know I am saved, so why do I refuse the word He has given me?
** I know He has a plan for me, so why am I rushing it because
** I am eager to do His will, when it is His time not my time?

J.R. on Tract Today!

This is from me…..

The following message is from a tract with the above title by: Laura A. Barter Snow-Printed by the Faith,Prayer & Tract League - Scripture qouted is from the NIV.

This message came to me at a time that spoke volumes to me many years ago. I am still waiting for a lot of what it says to come about such as the Lord’s continued plan for my life. The other parts of this tract were so acurate for some of my circumstances it was beyond belief. God has a way of speaking to us. Some need more discernment for which I need. Others leap out at you. I had recieved this tract in an assortment from the printers and it got lost in my Jeep at the time. I had put out the others from the stack during one of my tract sharing days. This one I had to pick up and read myself, because it wasn’t one of the usual Salvation tracts that most of the samples are. Any way enjoy the read yourself. Maybe it will speak volumes to your circumstances as well!

My Child,

I have a message for you today; let me whisper it in your ear, that it may smooth the rough places upon which you may have to tread.

It is short– only four words– but let them sink into your inmost soul; use them as a pillow upon which to rest your weary head: “THIS IS FROM ME”

Have you ever thought of it, that all that concerns you concerns ME too? “For whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye.”  Zechariah 2:8

I would have you learn when temptations overwelm you that your weaknesses needs MY might, and your safety lies in the letting Me fight for you. “I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.” Isaiah 42:16

Are you in money difficulties? This is from Me, for I am your provider and would have you draw from and depend on Me. “My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”  Phillipians 4:19

Are you in diffucult circumstances, surrounded by people who do not understand you? This is from Me. I am the God of circumstances. You did not come to this place by accident; it is the very place God meant for you. Have you not asked to be made humble? I have placed you in the very school where this is taught; your curcumstances are being used to work out My will. “These have come so that your faith may be proved geniune and may result praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” 1 Peter 1:7

Are you passing though a night of sorrow? This is from Me. I am the “Man of Sorrows and aquinted with grief.” I have let earthly comforters fail you. Turn to Me so that you may recieve everlasting consolation.

Has some friend disapointed you? One to whom you opened your heart? This is from Me. I have allowed this disapointment to come that you may learn that:

“The best friend to have is Jesus;

He will hear you when you call,

He will keep you lest you fall,

The best friend to have is Jesus.”

I want to be the one you confide in? Has someone repeated things about you that are not true? Leave them to Me and draw closer to Me. “The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; he is their stronghold in time of trouble.” Psalm 37:39

Have you plans been upset? This is from Me.

You made plans and then asked Me to bless them; But I would have you let Me plan for you.

“For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord,”plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”  ?Jeremiah 29:11

Have you longed to do some great work for Me, and instead been laid aside into the shadows? This is from Me. I could not get your attention in your busy so I drew you aside. “Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:12,13.

Are you suddenly called upon to occupy a diffucult and responsible position? This is from Me. Trust Me. “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles: they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.”  Isaiah 40:31

This day I place in your hands this pot of holy oil; make use of it freely, my child. Let every circumstance that would crush you, every word pains , every revelation of you weakness be anointed with it!

I will turn the darkness in light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not frosake them. ” Isaiah 42:16

Hope this spoke to your heart and to where you find yourself today, Seek the Lord while he may be found. He Loves you So!

God Bless you!

J.R. On Tract for Jesus!

Praise The Lord! Most High! Jesus! our Savior!

I was not home this morning when my mother recieved a call from a dear Pastor Brother in the Lord from the Country of Pakistan. He was praising the Lord for our gospel websites and was excited to say he had told over 100 people about them in his country! God is at work through his Holy Spirit and willing vessels for the Gospel in Muslim nations. He said via email which he sent after his call that only 3% were Christian in his country currently. He wants some tracts to translate in his language. Pray about his efforts! and that people would be open to the Gospel message. Note: our ministry does not currently print any tracts, I have, and am believing if it is the Lords will for us to print Simple Business card tracts. I need the people and the funds for that also. Pray the Lords will and provision. A good tract league I use is www.fellowshiptractleague.org there email is ftleague@aol.com   fax: 513-494-2626 Phone: 513-494-1075

They already have tracts in many different languages if you would like to share the gospel as I do in my part of the country and my travels, you may do the same in your area.

Today I attended the Local RV/Camper Show, putting out tracts and viewing the different campers. If you have read about our ministry at www.ontractforjesusministries.org you would have read a little about the vision I feel the Lord has given me about traveling and putting out tracts across the country and promoting our websites and t-shirt site. Pray about all this coming together. I am believing for his timing in all things. I have some other interest in things, however, I want his will. As the word says “many are the plans of man, but the Lord directs the steps.”

So in his time and his provision! Where do you play a part if any? Pray about it!

Well just when it was said!? How could you create another site? Well! I did! It is a personal blog. I am going to tell about my life the last 44 years and share hopefully some things that will help others avoid the mistakes I have made and those of my family that I have learned. I hope it will be of interest and will actually be a source for a book to be published from the blog form. Pray for me as I undertake this endeavor. May it touch and transform lives and help people in ther walk with Jesus! Pointing them to the savior! it is on the net at :  www.johnlrasmussen.com

I will still be doing this blog with the focus on the Bible, my ministry and all that encompasses, Health issues and information.

And on a different note let me share this with you:

ONE LAST WORD:  A little something to follow up your time in prayer

Eternally Secure

In the last two messages we’ve considered how the gift of eternal
life is given to “everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him”
(John 6:40).  But we also saw that belief is much more than a mere
acknowledgement of existence; “Even the demons believe that - and
shudder” (James 2:19).  Eternal life is a gift given only to those
who so intensely believe that Jesus is the only way to receive
forgiveness that they stand before a living God and enter into an
eternal covenant.
Covenants were first introduced by God to Noah after the flood; “I
establish My covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off
by the waters of a flood” (Genesis 9:11).  Over the years, God made
covenants with Abraham (Genesis 15), the nation of Israel through
Moses (Exodus 19), and with David (2 Samuel 7).  In each case, God
initiated the covenant and clearly established the guidelines.

Through the prophet Jeremiah, God spoke about the new covenant He
would make through Jesus; “I will put my law in their minds and write
it on their hearts. I will be their God and they will be my people”
(Jeremiah 31:33).  This new covenant was designed to be permanent and
under God’s complete protection: “I will make an everlasting covenant
with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire
them to fear Me, so that they will never turn away from Me” (Jeremiah
32:40).  Through the prophet Ezekiel, God gave further indication of
how this would be accomplished:

Ezekiel 36:26-27
“I will give you a new heart and put a new Spirit in you; I will
remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
And I will put My Spirit in you and move you to follow My decrees and
be careful to keep My laws.”

When we truly believe in Jesus, we enter into a covenant and God
transforms our heart by His Spirit; “a deposit guaranteeing our
inheritance” (Ephesians 1:14).  At that moment we are “sealed for the
day of redemption” (Ephesians 4:30).  And when we enter into His
saving covenant, we are purchased with the blood of Jesus: “You are
not your own; you were bought at a price” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

We are still called to continue in the faith, but God has promised we
WILL continue; “He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will
be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians
1:8).  He is the giver and sustainer of eternal life; “I give them
eternal life, and they shall never perish” (John 10:28).

There is debate whether this covenant can ever be broken, whether it
is eternal.  But perhaps this only distracts from the greater
truth.  We are called to love God and continue to love Him with all
our heart.  This calling is clear!  Let’s remain within His arms of
love, and trust that as we do, we are eternally secure.

Have a Christ Centered Day!
