Psalm 23

Almost everyone, whether religious or not has
heard the 23rd Psalm, because it is quoted so very often,
especially at funeral services.  Many even refer to it as the
”Resurrection Psalm.”  However this beautiful Psalm by David
actually Ministers to the living as well!
So let us see how this beautiful Psalm by David, actually
applies to us each and every day, using both the Old and
  New Testments.

                                Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
God will meet all your needs according to
His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
  ( Philippians 4:19 )

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he
 leads me beside quiet waters,

Whether you turn to the right or the left,
your ears will hear a voice behind you,
saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
  ( Isaiah 30:21 )

He restores my soul. He guides me in paths
of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light
 for my path.              ( Psalm 119:105 )

Even though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are
with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort
 me.
When you pass through the waters, they
will not sweep over you.  When you walk
through fire, you will not be burned; the
flames will not set you ablaze.
                                          ( Isaiah 43:2 )

You prepare a table before me in the presence
 of my enemies.  You anoint my head with oil;
 my cup overflows.
Praise be to the God and Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in
the spiritual realms with every spiritual
blessing in Christ.  For He chose us in
Him before the creation of the World to
be holy and blameless in His sight.
                                 ( Ephesians 1:3-4 )

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the
days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of
 the Lord forever.

For God so loved the World that He gave
His one and only son, that whoever
believes in Him shall not perish but have
 eternal life.                       ( John 3:16 )
                   ____________________       Finally Blog Readers, know that you are very special to God, and;

                                    ( Zephaniah 3:17 )

An Interview with Rick Warren…

It helps to put things in perspective sometimes…..

(REMEMBER, HE WROTE ‘PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE’)

You will enjoy the new insights that Rick Warren has, with his wife now
having cancer and him having ‘wealth’ from the book sales. This is an
absolutely incredible short interview with Rick Warren, ‘Purpose Driven
Life’ author and pastor of Saddleback Church in California.

In the interview by Paul Bradshaw with Rick Warren, Rick said:

People ask me, What is the purpose of life?

And I respond: In a nutshell, life is preparation for eternity. We were not
made to last forever, and God wants us to be with Him in Heaven.

One day my heart is going to stop, and that will be the end of my body –
but not the end of me. I may live 60 to 100 years on earth, but I am going
to spend trillions of years in eternity. This is the warm-up act - the dress
rehearsal. God wants us to practice on earth what we will do forever in
eternity.

We were made by God and for God, and until you figure that out, life isn’t
going to make sense.

Life is a series of problems: Either you are in one now, you’re just coming
out of one, or you’re getting ready to go into another one.

The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character than
your comfort; God is more interested in making your life holy than He is in
making your life happy.

We can be reasonably happy here on earth, but that’s not the goal of life.
The goal is to grow in character, in Christ likeness.

This past year has been the greatest year of my life but also the toughest,
with my wife, Kay, getting cancer.

I used to think that life was hills and valleys - you go through a dark
time, then you go to the mountaintop, back and forth. I don’t believe that
anymore.

Rather than life being hills and valleys, I believe that it’s kind of like
two rails on a railroad track, and at all times you have something good and
something bad in your life.  No matter how good things are in your life,
there is always something bad that needs to be worked on.  And no matter how
bad things are in your life, there is always something good you can thank
God for.

You can focus on your purposes, or you can focus on your problems:
If you focus on your problems, you’re going into self-centeredness, which is
‘my problem, my issues, my pain.’ But one of the easiest ways to get rid of
pain is to get your focus off yourself and onto God and others.

We discovered quickly that in spite of the prayers of hundreds of thousands
of people, God was not going to heal Kay or make it easy for her.  It has
been very difficult for her, and yet God has strengthened her character,
given her a ministry of helping other people, given her a testimony, drawn
her closer to Him and to people …

You have to learn to deal with both the good and the bad of life.

Actually, sometimes learning to deal with the good is harder. For instance,
this past year, all of a sudden, when the book sold 15 million copies, it
made me instantly very wealthy.  It also brought a lot of notoriety that I
had never had to deal with before. I don’t think God gives you money or
notoriety for your own ego or for you to live a life of ease.

So I began to ask God what He wanted me to do with this money, notoriety and
influence. He gave me two different passages that helped me decide what to
do, II Corinthians 9 and Psalm 72.

First, in spite of all the money coming in, we would not change our
lifestyle one bit. We made no major purchases.

Second, about midway through last year, I stopped taking a salary from the
church.

Third, we set up foundations to fund an initiative we call The Peace Plan to
plant churches, equip leaders, assist the poor, care for the sick, and
educate the next generation.

Fourth, I added up all that the church had paid me in the 24 years since I
started the church, and I gave it all back. It was liberating to be able to
serve God for free.

We need to ask ourselves: Am I going to live for possessions? Popularity?
Am I going to be driven by pressures? Guilt? Bitterness? Materialism? Or am
I going to be driven by God’s purposes (for my life)?

When I get up in the morning, I sit on the side of my bed and say, God, if I
don’t get anything else done today, I want to know You more and love You
better. God didn’t put me on earth just to fulfill a to-do list. He’s more
interested in what I am than what I do.  That’s why we’re called human
beings, not human doings.

Happy moments, PRAISE GOD.
Difficult moments, SEEK GOD.
Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD.
Painful moments, TRUST GOD.
Every moment, THANK GOD.

God’s Blessings,

Have a great Day! Spring is here! Easter is on the way!

The Teen Commandments

I don’t know how many teenagers view this blog, however, share this with the teens you know.

1. Don’t let your parents down; they brought you up.

2. Choose your companions with care; you become what they are.

3. Be a master or your habits, or they will master you.

4. Treasure your time ; don’t spend it, invest it.

5. Stand for something, or you’ll fall for anything.

6. Select only a date who would make a good mate.

7. See what you can do for others; not what they can do for you.

8. Guard your thoughts; what you think, you are.

9. Don’t fill up on this world’s crumbs; feed your soul on the Living Bread.

10. Give your all to Christ; He gave His all for you.

Pray for all Teenagers that they would come to a saving knowledge of the Lord, send them to

J.R. on Tract today!

Seek the Lord while he may be found…

Seek first the kingdom of God and His
 righteousness, and all these things
 shall be added to you.
             ( Matthew 6:33 *NKJV )

Trying to keep up with those who seem to have it all, may
easily cause you to lose focus on what is really important!   After
all, many people do evil things to gain large sums of money,
and even seem to get away with it as well.

As God’s Children we should; Trust in the Lord, and
do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His
faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your
heart.                            ( Psalms 37:3-4 )

Therefore, Do not fret because of evildoers,
Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
And wither as the green herb. ( Psalms 37:1-2 )
For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who
wait on the Lord, They shall inherit the earth.
                                                      ( Psalms 37:9 )

So, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything
by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let
your requests be made known to God; and the
peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds through Christ
Jesus.  Amen                          ( Philippians 4:6-7 )

SAND and STONE

TWO FRIENDS WERE WALKING

THROUGH THE DESERT.

DURING SOME POINT OF THE

JOURNEY, THEY HAD AN

ARGUMENT; AND ONE FRIEND

SLAPPED THE OTHER ONE

IN THE FACE.

THE ONE WHO GOT SLAPPED

WAS HURT, BUT WITHOUT

SAYING ANYTHING,

WROTE IN THE SAND:

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND

SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.

THEY KEPT ON WALKING,

UNTIL THEY FOUND AN OASIS,

WHERE THEY DECIDED

TO TAKE A BATH

THE ONE WHO HAD BEEN

SLAPPED GOT STUCK IN THE

MIRE AND STARTED DROWNING,

BUT THE FRIEND SAVED HIM.

AFTER HE RECOVERED FROM

THE NEAR DROWNING,

HE WROTE ON A STONE:

“TODAY MY BEST FRIEND

SAVED MY LIFE “.

THE FRIEND WHO HAD SLAPPED

AND SAVED HIS BEST FRIEND

ASKED HIM, “AFTER I HURT YOU,

YOU WROTE IN THE SAND AND NOW,

YOU WRITE ON A STONE, WHY?”

THE FRIEND REPLIED

“WHEN SOMEONE HURTS US

WE SHOULD WRITE IT DOWN

IN SAND, WHERE WINDS OF

FORGIVENESS CAN ERASE IT AWAY.

BUT, WHEN SOMEONE DOES

SOMETHING GOOD FOR US,

WE MUST ENGRAVE IT IN STONE

WHERE NO WIND

CAN EVER ERASE IT.”

LEARN TO WRITE

YOUR HURTS IN

THE SAND AND TO

CARVE YOUR

BENEFITS IN STONE.

THEY SAY IT TAKES A

MINUTE TO FIND A SPECIAL

PERSON, AN HOUR TO

APPRECIATE THEM, A DAY

TO LOVE THEM, BUT THEN

AN ENTIRE LIFE

TO FORGET THEM.

The Bible Says that for those in Christ, Jesus has written your name in the palm of his hand! He loves you more than you can know! Have a blessed day! pray for this ministry, our website is www.ontractforjesusministries.org
